They have all got a little bit!
As long as one has about an 1/8th inch of lever gap / cable slack at the hand lever with steering centered & it does not Pull to Less than zero slack at either full lock LH & RH, it does not matter where the slack comes from.
I just rolled over 85,000 miles on my 1987 -A1 yesterday, still using the original clutch arm. I wonder when the rivet will wear thru? And where I will be at?
Just out of curiosity and since I have never put that many miles on one particular bike, In that 85,000 miles , have the wheel bearings lasted that long and if not, how long did they go before going bad?
Bill got 96,000 miles out of his stockers (which were still functioning when replaced)....FYI. Like Paul, I'd never re-install a bearing that was installed before. I replaced mine on my 2001 around 10,000 miles not having any clue on thier lifespan but I won't do it again until they have at least 20,000 - 30,000 miles on them. I do check them whenever I have a tire off and I'm using factory greased, double shielded SKF bearings.
