Street Tires?

When I had my '02 KLR I ran Metzeler Lasertec tires with excellent results on both highways and secondary roads.
My daily commute was 13 miles one way on secondary roads and whether day, night, rain or dry, they had great grip and wore well.
My '06 KLR has OEM type tires, so I'll be swapping a new set of rubber soon, and they will be seeing 95/5 street/dirt use as did the Metzelers.
Has anyone been running the Michelin Anakee 3 tires? They look to be a very street-ish tread pattern, and based on my experience with Michelin Pilot Road tires on my Triumph Tiger1050s, Michelin makes great tires.
Tell me about your experience with the Anakee 3s!

Hi Rex, I had them on a 08 GS a while back. I found no fault with them and in the rain or wet conditions, they
are great. Some guys don't like the sound they make while underway but it never bothered me. I looked at it
as a song that they sing and it tells me that everything is ok as I go my way. I think they would be a fine tire
for your KLR. I mounted some Shinko 705s on my Gen 1 bike just recently, and they are a swell tire for the KLR
for not a lot of money but seeing your post makes me wish I had gone with the Anakee.

I have actually seen Dave Brubeck perform live , Take Five

Thanks, but I've always considered Shinko and Kenda tires to be "rim protectors".
Use what you like, but I'll be reaching for the top shelf.

We'll have to agree to disagree regarding Shinko and Kenda.
As I said, use what you like.
I've used Metzeler tires since I started desert/enduro racing in the late '60s, and when I moved to the street in the mid '80s, Metzeler (along with Pirelli and Michelin) has been my "go to" tires.
