DR650 foot pegs

Today I installed a pair of used DR650 foot pegs. A friend gave me a pair he was replacing, thanks Sean. I bought springs and used the stock KLTR foot peg pins. The DR650 foor pegs are a direct replacement with no modifications. I will be installing the DR650 foot peg pins because they have a hole for a cotter pin. The KLR foot peg pin uses a C clip that could possibilty become lost along with the foot peg pin.

When not riding off road I will reinstall the stock KLR foot pegs.

tkent-

There was a thread a while back that had all of the part numbers needed so that you could order them up from one of the on-line vendors. the cost was really pretty reasonalble. About $40 if I recall correctly.

OK, thanks! A word to the wise, these do NOT fit a KLR, maybe I can grind them to fit.

Dealer prices: The pegs are $22 each, the springs are 2.50 for both, the pins are about $4 for both.
I had ordered the foot pegs before I was given the used pair. They were good with me not buying them.

But then they might bring up another issue. The width of the pegs. This may affect your shifting abilities. I had the spendy IMS pegs on my KLR and no matter how much I adjusted my aftermarket shifter, my size 12 foot was never comfortable with them. I went with the OEM Suzuki DR650 narrow pegs and all is good now. YMMV
P.S....I now have the DR650 pegs on my DL1000.

I have both the wide and narrow DR pegs and the distance from the front of the peg to the shifter is exactly the same.

OEM or aftermarket? Just curious. The wide pegs must have a bit of a set-back to them?

Today I got the OEM DR650 footpeg pins and they are larger. I would have grill the KLR fpptpeg bracket to make them fight the pin. I will use them for awhile to see if they bind in error to see if I need to drill the bracket.

I am guessing the stock DR650 footpeg is not as strong as the IMS and other aftermarket footpegs but the price is right. If someone has a pair they want to donate I will take them. They would be great for a Tech Day Gift.
