Opinions Please

I love my 09' KLR 650 all farkled up. The only downside is its too durn heavy for serious single tracking here in the Central Sierra Nevada Mountains (Calif). The KLR works well on logging roads and moderate off road. What I am searching for is your opinions on what full dirt bike to get. I am looking at the KX 250 and the CR 250 (I know I should stick with the Kawai). I feel the 450s are to much for me as I am not a Pro Supercross racer. I am torso tall 6'4" 235 lbs. I will never give up the KLR I just want to tear up the mountains on the weekends.

2008 KLR 650 (Blue): EM Doo, Pelican 1550s on KLR650.com mounts, Jet kit w/ Jardine pipe, Alum skid plate, LED tailight, Fork stabilizer, Progressive front spring, Off Road pegs, KLR650,com Radiator guards and H2O pump protection with stock pegs, Magnetic oil plug, dual horns, Master cylinder protection, Hottie on 2-up.

Darn I was going to say KLX 450R. How about the KLX 250S?

So who manufactures a 450 with a less powerful engine and still has 12" of suspension?

The KLX is a good bike and I like the big bore bikes, it is much easier on the hills. I have a KDX two stoke which is a fun bike here in New England

get some muscles and ride the dang KLR...
It can do the single track. Just stay out of the double Black Diamond trails and you'll be fine.
Where's MysticRick?... he knows all about it.

Digg-
I was riding a Yamaha WR250f and loved it (just sold it to get a WR450). I have also ridden the Honda CRF250X and think it is a great bike. I am 6-1 250lbs and my WR was plenty fast. Both bikes are trail versions of the mx bikes and have a bit taller gearing, lights, and e-start. Jetting and exhaust mods are mandatory on both. You can find lots of great deals on these and they tend to be less beat than the mx bikes. If you're buying used, look for one that has suspension upgraded for your weight range.
