Cool Tire type question!!

Hey all, I am thinking about buying a new set of tires for the 2000 klr 650. I really like the looks of the AVON DISTANZIA and I think I am gonna try them this time. I mainly ride on the road and then sometimes hit a fire road occasionally but nothing really too hard core. I try to avoid serious mud if I can and I know they say that they are no good for the mud which is no biggie for me..

Ok well my question is which type do I wanna buy for my bike the H or the T one? I know the H is rated up too 130mph or something and the T is lower but heck im lucky if the bike ever sees 80mph. Is there a difference in the handling or something? and I have heard that they are radials. I am not no tire expert what does that mean? Would I have to worry about breaking a belt or something in em? Sometimes I like to jump off of small curbs when I am on the road but not often..

Any help with this matter would be greatley appreciated!!

I hope I posted this in the right spot but sorry if I didnt. They have done some changes to the site since the last time I posted!!

Thanks

Eric, I've wondered the same thing over the years with tires on various bikes. I remember that Metzeler ME33's used to come in H and V rated and I always spent the extra $3 and went with the higher rating, but I'm sure it wasn't needed.

If I were you I'd contact Avon and find out if there's a difference in rubber compound or some other reason there's a rating difference between the two tires, even though they're the same name and appearance..

Excellent question!! Maybe someone here's got an answer?? Like I said, I've always just spent the extra amount for the highest rating, but that's not really an answer to what the difference actually is..

Dunlop has a motorcycle tire FAQ

I'm thinking higher speed rated tires have less load capacity so if you tour that's a consideration. Not to mention putting 150 mph rated tires on a KLR!
