Heavier shock spring-Who sells them?

I have an 06 KLR650.I am looking for a heavier spring for the stock shock.Where do I find info on vendors,specs,and prices?I have spent too much time and found too little info on this and other forums.I may not navigate the forums the best,but it seems I could find a little more info.I found a couple.But I want to compare more than that.
Any direction would be appreciated.

Hey Doogle, welcome to the forum. Here is a link to a company that sells a shock spring upgrade. They also perform shock service on your shock, install spring and send it all back to you ready to reinstall.

I suggest you call and discuss your riding habits, terrain, load weights, etc. They set up rally bikes and long distance multi surface motorcycles. They know what they are doing. The "Elder Statesman", Eldon Carl, has been Baja racing competitively since 1955, often running two up!

They were one of the sites I found.I have called twice and keep missing them.I forget the EST and PST thing.I will try again tomorrow.

I put one on too. Used a Harbor Freight spring compressor to change it out. It was a little tough but I got it switched. Suspension much stiffer now. They have a formula for which size spring to use per your weight and riding habits.

I cut some of those coil rubber inserts you get at the auto parts stores,,put 2 in each side of coil,,evenly spaced,,no more rear "squat" under acceleration,,much stiffer,,,but not rock hard either,,nice middle ground for it. Have to cut them in a smaller size than how they go in a car coil spring,,but its worth it.

On a long trip,I would not want to worry about rubber falling out.And you can't really gauge what you have that way.That might be worth playing with if it were just near home.

Hey, Doogle. You might email the guys at Top Gun and ask what a good time would be to hook up with them by phone. I don't know how to explain this, but, they're bikers. You know, they get the urge, next thing you now, they're wishin' they had learned more ways to order food in Spanish. Height of rally season, I 'spect they are out and at it.

The rubber pcs I put in have remained in the same spot for 15,000 miles or so,,,no problems with that end of it,,,but as you say it may be a challenge to "dial in" the setting for your shock. I just went by "the seat of my pants" gauge,,,experimented with different pcs ect,,,again its not for everybody. But it works for what I do. Cheers.
