Question doohicky?

What is a doohicky and what does it do and where does it go???? I have a 08 and my friend just go an 07 and some other rider asked him if he had put a (doohicky) on it yet... any info would be great..... portgy

Hi there, and welcome to the forum.

The Doohickey is formally known as the 'balancer chain adjustment lever' which, on Gen 1 bikes, is a chronic bad part. Gen 2 bikes have a better balancer lever, but crappy spring.

You have a Gen2 bike, and should only require a replacement spring. One good source of replacement springs is topgun motorcycles who have a bit different take on the doohickey issue. I find their site difficult to navigate, but there is good info there if you will poke around on their site for it.
