Which windshield?

Just got my bike after test riding a buds last weekend. I think he has a laminar lip on his. I'm looking for something to take the wind off me and make for a quieter ride (more quiet than stock).
Thinking about ordering the lip, but thought I'd see what others have to say.
What other options are there? (less $$ is good)
Whacha guys think?
Thanks!

I have a ZG sport touring. Nothing to compare it to, but it wasn't too pricey and gets the job done.

Madstad

This setup is expensive - but I think it may be a great touring setup. Anyone have one on thier KLR?

I used a madstad bracket with and tall Givi wind screen on my DL-650 and they give you a lot of up/down, and back/forth setting ranges.

Pretty cool stuff!

Go 6'1", have an 09 with a Sargent saddle. Recently popped for a ZG Sport touring screen. Raises the airflow from chest to my forehead; is noticably quieter. Best price I found was ZG Outlet. Probably not suitable for off-road.

I have a Sargent and the same shield. Totally suitable for offroad. You just can't drop your bike.

I'm 6'4 and use the MadStad Adventure windshield with great results: gets the wind completely off me. It's also nice because you can take it off in less than a minute if you need or want to.

I'm with Lockjaw and Glasser: the ZG Sport Touring works well for me (and, the tinted one looks good on the black '09...) I'm 6'1", and the shield moves the wind to the top of my helmet. Still plenty of wind on my arms and shoulders, a good thing during Kansas summers.

Since they're not cheap I went ahead and ordered the laminar lip my bud has on his bike. I never really cared for KLR's until I test rode his. Liked it so much I bought one 1 week later. I'm in KS too.
