Anyone know what this is, and is it worth putting it on my '09?A buddy gave it to me for free-new in bag. I just am too new to the KLR to know anything about it. Thanks in advance for the help.
Free? Sure why not?
Don't buy one though the basic premiss is false. The chain won't make contact with the airbox like the maker claims. I've bottomed my KLR hard off-road and the chain hasn't hit.
Off-Road bikes need an upper chain roller because they have about 2 times the suspension travel a KLR does. Their chain rollers and guide are to control the chain slack to keep the chain on the sprockets. Notice that the KLR doesn't even have a chain guide? Not enough suspension movement to warrant one.
