Happy trails boxes

Hey I got a set of the aluminum happy trails boxes. They are the ones that mount with 4 "L" brackets and bolts. Well the bolts have a plastic knob on the end so they can be removed and installed with out tools. The issue I am having is one of the plastic knobs is slipping on the bolt. So it no longer tightens or loosens the actual bolt. Has anyone else had a similar issue? If so what was your fix? I was thinking about just going go home depot and walking down the bolt isle and seeing if anything sings to me. I contacted happy tails and they sell a whole new mount kit but it costs $50. And being el cheapo I'm hoping to fix it for much less. Any ideas?

Heat the metal bolt ( like previously suggested ) to remelt into the knob?

Drill small hole through knob into bolt and insert a pin?

Some good tips. I'll have to try them out and let you know what happens
