fan switch cross-o-rama

Since there does not seem to be a widely known alternative to the spendy genuine Kawasaki 27010-1443 fan switch, I vote we take a little time finding the best alternative.

There does seem to be a switch floating around on ebay that will do, but I have no info on this. I would post a link, but apparently I'm still too new and dangerous to do that. If someone can come up with a good number, we'll end the thread with that part number so we can all go to Napa for a switch.

And yes, you can always wire in a manual switch, but for the time being, I'd like to try for as close as we can get to a direct replacement.

EDIT: As soon as I have some info. I'll post it here. You can do the same.

Kawasaki 27010-1443
M18-1.5 with an o-ring seal, Normally Open, Closes @ 203F-214F, Opens @ 189F or less

Possibles:

Wells TU197
M18 x 1.5 (no o-ring), Normally Open, Closes at 198F-208F, Opens at 189F-199F, 2 male blade terminals
The thread design might allow for an o-ring. Requires a different connector that does not appear to be offered by Wells.

Wells SW1444
M18 x 1.5 with o-ring seal. two terminals, No other info provided.

Wells SW1636
M18 x 1.5 with o-ring seal. Open 203F - Close 212F, two blade terminals, No other info provided.

Wells SW1888
M18 x 1.5 with o-ring seal, 2 Male Blade Terminal, Normally open, Makes 199F Breaks 190F
I'm liking this one.

Wells SW2379
M18 x 1.5 with o-ring seal, 2 Male Blade Terminal, No other info provided

Wells SW648
M18 x 1.5 with o-ring seal, 2 Male Blade Terminal, Normally open, Makes 216F 8 Breaks 206F 8
This looks good except that seems a bit hot.

So I've posted some possible switches. As they get eliminated, I'll cross them off. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I'm fairly confident the Wells SW1888 is our switch, but I don't need one at the moment. Autozone carries them under that number. O'reilly will carry it under a BWD TFS596. Napa has their own number, but they should be able to get there from either the Wells or BWD. They run between $35 and $40.

Oddly enough, this is also the Suzuki 17680-50F00 fan switch on some ATVs. Ron Ayers sells it for $42.09

Another alternative from (and only according to) Autozone is the Santech MT0537 -- and only $24.99. It looks to be a bit longer, but that might just be a strange pic. It also doesn't cross according to BWD or Wells. In fact, it doesn't come up as anything with them.

Rumor has it that the KTM Superduke also uses the same switch. Munn Racing in Elm Mott, TX is my go to place for KTM parts, and they list it as KTM 60035045000 @ $21.24. The o-ring 0770017015 is sold separately for $.15 so it makes sense to get that too. I stumbled into this one, but it might be worth a try at that price.

And our Australian friends can go with a Holden 1768050F00 at whatever price you can swing.
