2005 wheels on a 2009

will they work?
i know they changed to a heavier spoke but i wasn't sure if they changed the hub also.

The hub is the same; the rotor is larger on the Gen2.

so the wheel will work i just have to swap the rotor.

That is correct. I don't know what the cost of an extra set of rotors might be; swapping rotors out could be a pain, as they need to be correctly torqued and should installed with Loc-Tite.
