LED dash lights

Years ago I installed blue LED lights in the dash of my truck. I got them from superbrightleds.com Money and time well spent because it looks great to me. I'm wanting to do the same thing to my KLR. I don't ride it much at night but even at dusk it should look nice.

Does anyone know how many bulbs I need to order and which ones? I think I'd just replace the main dash lights.

09' has three bulbs. One per gauge the standard bulb # is 194.

I'm planing total LED except headlights over this winter.

That's it? I had it off once to lube up the sticky odometer but don't remember how many bulbs I saw back there.

I'm thinking a total of 6 including turn, neutral, bright. But I could be wrong it was earlie this season when I did the headlights.

Maybe some one else could chime in to make sure .
You could pop off the winshield and check real quick .

I did a little write up at [klrforum (dot) com/showthread.php?t=11623].

Three bulbs are used for background lights. I tried green for a while and decided I liked the white bulbs better. I did replace the Neutral, Turn, and Bight indicators too since the stock 194 bulbs are not bright enough; but be careful not to go too bight or you will be blinded at night.

Gauge Lighting WLED-W, 120 degrees, 3 lumens, white. Great for gauge lighting.

Find the color you want based on the above part number.

I can't post a URL until I reach 15 posts. Stinkin rule.

I have 2 blue leds laying around from superbright. I looked at them and found some that look identical on ebay and ordered a 10 pack of them for cheap.
So it takes (4) 194's to light up the main dash? I'll try to take some pics whenever they show up and I get around to it.

Here is a photo of the rear cluster. The four along the bottom are turn, high beam, background, and neutral indicators.

When I went hunting mA, I swapped all bulbs for LEDs.

I wanted red to keep from killing my night vision, and it is pretty hard to read at night, but it doesn't affect night vision at all. To get even lighting, the bottom bulb under the odometer needed to be a bit brighter.

From SuperBright, I got:
2x WLED-R-120
1x WLED-RHP

If I were to do it again, I would probably go with green, white, or amber, because the red just doesn't work well with the stock coloring of the gauges.

I also did the indicator bulbs with the same WLED-G-120 (Yep went green all the way across, even the high beam indicator), and that is about perfect for stock replacements. Since they are non polarized, even the turn signal indicator work just fine.

I never did try the green LED for the High Beam since the cover is blue. That is great that it works there too.
