Was expecting a bong thread. No experience with the mod.

I have the FMF Q4 and the powerbomb. I didn't notice anything different other than the Q4 being throatier sounding but I didn't rejet or tune to max performance. I just ride.

I put on a power bomb with a DG pipe and loved it.

Youtube search for

"dabaum klr fmf DG 2007"

You can hear it there too.

I got the q4 muffler with powerbomb header. Rejetted with a k&n air filter. Sounds great. Minimal power gains. Was a present so I can't complain. Not something I would have purchased myself however.

I thought I had read that the Powerbomb really offered very little for the 08+ bikes because the head pipe was already about the same size, and much larger than the earlier bikes.

I did say minimal gains. When I got the bike I went mod crazy. Did the full exhaust, air filter, carb tuning, 22 cent mod, snorkel removal, as well as chain and sprockets. So wherever the power came from I can't say. But even with all that done only picked up in the ballpark of maybe 5 horse... Guessing high there as well. The only different in the powerbomb headed between stock was the actual powerbomb bubble. Pipe diameter was to the eye identical.

When paired with an overbore kit, fully built head and tuned carb, it unlocks lots of power. The stock klr head flow dynamics wont make much use of the aftermarket exhaust. It does sound awesome though. I have all the mentined mods. I appreciate the high flow exhaust.
