Can't help you Troy with the Tracing for the 2011 dash, but I can tell you how I figure stuff out like this. I use heavy paper folders and cut some pieces with scissors of the corners or mounting areas I want to fit around. I tape or staple these individual pieces to each other, (overlapping) until I get the base design of what I'm trying to do. Then I lay that template over a clean piece of folder paper and trace it's outline on it. Cut it out with scissors again to make a solid one piece template and test fit.

You can make adjustments to the size again until you have it right where you want it. If you have any folds or bends in mind draw the line where that will be and fold the paper to make it fit you idea. Keep at this process until you have your template exactly how you want it.

Then lay it over the material you want to make it out of, draw it on with a fine tip permanent marker and then start cutting it out. This paper template will allow you to figure out where you want switches and other items placed.

You can even punch in the mounting holes in the paper to make it all work.

When you're done you can proudly say, "I designed and made it myself!"

Have fun! It's really rewarding to do stuff like this.

Thank you

I do allot of fab work on my job and you are verry correct on how to make a pattern. I am just so buisy at work, 10 and 12 hrs a day I was just trying to cheat a little. I love to make thing the way I want them and it is fun and rewarding. My time between work and hunting is demanding. I only have 2 more weeks of deer season and I will have time. I have allot of additions I want to do to my KLR.

Thank You
