weight????

i ve been looking at the weights between 2007 an older and 2008 and newer and there is a 50 pound diffenerce between these two?

Are the fork and the fairing that much more? where does all the girth come from, unless my KLR has been into my IPA's

im sure this has been covered somewhere if so point me into the right direction.

does that weight difference make that much of a difference or is the new model so much better you dont notice it?

Prior to 2008 motorcycles were weighed dry and with certain consumables omitted. After 2008 the weights were pretty much standardized by the manufacturers as wet, or curb weight, in a ready-to-ride configuration. There really isn't much difference in weight between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 bikes.

There's an article somewhere on the TopGun site where they weighed the two bikes.

Here's the TopGun article. The difference is about 15 pounds.
