Brush guards for handlebars

Hey guys this is my first post as a new member in this forum I am 3 months into my first KLR a 08 it has no handle bar brush guards on it I was wondering what guys have on their bikes and if they had pictures, Or suggestions
I saw some called storm on a picture somewhere which I like the asthetics of but a search on google could not pull them up. The factory ones look like a waste of time so there probably not an option.
Any recommendations welcome and by the way I am learning so much from the forum about this bike and wanted to say what a great site it is Gary.

Went with Barkbusters also. They have survived more than one drop and have held up well. Downside is the $$$. Would probably try Moose Racing if buying again. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome Gary!

If you want guards with integrated bars I suggest the Tusk D-Flex Handguards

The Gen 2 KLRs take some fussing to mount handguards usually. You may have to rotate the bars/levers a bit for the guards not to smack the fairing. I ended up buying the Tusk bar mounts (because of their adjust ability) to mount the Moose guards I had. Would have been cheaper just to have bought the Tusks in the 1st place.

BTW the OEM bars have a threaded insert inside for the bar weights. You can use a longer screw and mount the guards and the weights if you want or just the handguards so you wouldn't need the rubber adapter show above.

Thanks Spec do you have a pic of your bike with these on? thanks for the link.
The barkbuster storms with mounting kit run about $114 shipped to me from twisted throttle.
These could be a good option for a lot less.

I have Moose guards on my bike well really just the Moose aluminum bar with the tusk bar adapters and Cycra low profile shields. Like I said would have been cheaper just to have got the Tusk setup to begin with. Read the reviews for the Tusks, nothing wrong with them IMHO.

Oh yea you're a KLR guy now we're all about cheap, err... cost effective that is!

I skipped the hand guards and spent the money on Ape-Hanger bars and hockey gloves. Just kidding. I'm planning on using the bark-buster with a plastic guard over the top.
