Fluid Replacement

Just curious. Regardless of what any manuals say, at what mileage/year intervals do you think the following should be replaced?

Brake Fluid

Coolant

Brakes: Coincidentally I just did my brake fluid for the first time on my 2004 so - 8 years.

Coolant: About 6 years.

One year on brake fluid, two years on coolant.

Two years for both, max. The brake fluid especially needs regular changing. That stuff attracts water and if left unchanged will eventually corrode the innards of the brake system. I live in the "wet tropics" and I've seen what happens when brake fluid is left too long, it turns to a brownish sludge. Definately not good. Cheap and easy to change.

I replace my fluids once a year, the bike sits there all winter anyway so along about spring I like to go thru it and get it ready for summer.

I use to not own vehicles or bikes long enough to worry about it, but that's changed. I guess if something is working right I don't want to mess with it. I'd hate to get air in either system and screw it up.
I should do it more often though...

I'm kind of a cross between a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kinda guy and a "take care of it by following manufacturer's directions" kinda guy. I often split the difference, so to say. I'll probably do both this Winter, or at least the brake fluid.

I partly do it in the winter (Oil too) just cause i like working on my bike, it's a '96 so theres always something. Hate working on my car or my truck, but enjoy working on it.
If I can't ride it, get it ready to ride.

Just over 200 miles on my 2012, I'll follow the manual. Have a service contract, so I'll hold the dealer to it.
