L Mod?

Instead of cutting holes or a hole in the top of the airbox, has anybody thought about doing the same with the air box access cover, or even removing it? You have a side cover that would cover the opening?

I think the reason everyone cuts the top off is because it's the highest point on the airbox and most protected from water and heavy dust getting in. If it were on the side cover alot of the crap from your wheels would be able to enter the airbox much easier even with the side cover over it.
