Adding Upgades to my 09 KLR.

Well im new to this forum, and I have gotten some really great advice and tipps from others who frquent this site (Thank you all). But Now comes the fun part... Im modifying my klr, for more of a street type bike and need some advice on add ons. Money is no issue. But at this point I want to keep the 650cc. I have added, centerstand, trunk box, side bags(stock klr's), tank bag, Annakee 2 tires, EM fork brace, and super moto front fender. Im planing on putting a slip on exhaust. (not for performance, just cosmetic and sound). So to all fellow members shoot me some ideas. Thanks All!

If you're going to be doing some street/traffic riding, I would recommend moriver's excellent idea of putting those round, stick-on wide angle mirrors on the inside of your handguards to improve your field of view to the sides and rear.

The subject of his thread linked below is his original throttle lock idea, but you can see his mirrors mounted on the handguard.

If you do much highway riding you should look at changing to a 16 tooth front sprocket, it will drop your rpm down to around 5000 at 70 mph, and with mine it seemed all posted city speed limits fell in a better rpm range/ gear selection

.22 cent mod gives you a burst out of the throttle, I know you said money is no object so maybe you can find a .30 cent washer instead! LOL Sorry its a super cheap but very effective mod. Lots of posts here and vids on YouTube. Like it was said above, the 16 tooth sprocket will drop your RPMs around 400ish at hiway speed. Another good one.

The throttle lock is one of my garage hour finds but the mirrors were on the bike when I got it. They are however the mod I use most.
