hard to start getting worse

2008 klr just started getting hard to start, and now just about won't start. checked the normal things, getting fuel because it floods if you give it any gas and has to be full choke if it does start,, put in new plug did not help now it wants to back fire seems to be getting worse any IDEAS as to what to do next other than taking it to the shop!!!!!!! Valves need to be adjusted, classic symptons.

Valves are being held slightly open meaning there isn't enough compression to allow the engine to fire. A semi simple job, no need for a shop, just buy a 12mm wrench, 10mm wrench and a set of feeler gauges, oh and a manual......if you need help just ask.

Having similar issues but with a slight difference. If yo find your valves are ok, check out this post klrforum.com/showthread.php?t=12443 it may be of some help.
