Loose turn signal switch?

I just installed new hand guards and now my signal switch/choke spins on the bar?
Everything appears tight, what could have happened, did I shear plastic pin when
I was wacking the guards to make them fit?

Well I just took mine apart, there is or was a plastic indexing stud inside and part of the switch assembly, I must have sheared it off when beating on the bars??
I wrapped some electrical tape around the bars to give a little more for the switch body to close down upon and it has helped. I used about 3 wraps of tape, 5 or 6 would have been better on each side of the pin index hole. I think if you were careful you might also be able to drill out the switch body and install a screw for the index hole but tape will work fine for now.
Or Perhaps on a rainy day when you could afford to have the switch off and open you could make a new plastic tit with some JB weld or epoxy clay.
