Knocked Down KLR

Just joined the forum as O recently purchased a 1995 KLR 650. Love the bike except the colors. I had it parked on the street and it was knocked down (again) and the handle bars are not in line with the front tire.
Anyone know how to adjust it?
Many thanks

Put the bike on the center stand, track stand or have a buddy hold the bike upright. Loosen the triple clamps gently and then holding the front tire straight forward, gently twist the handlebars, top triple clamp to align with the front tire.
Then retighten the triple clamps. Should be good to go.

I have a '95, as well. The PO put a 2006 body on it, he hated the colors so much.

I sawed a one-inch section out of my side side the first month after buying my KLR - and it STILL seems too tall at times. Anyhow, get a hacksaw, some JB Weld, and a steel bushing from your local ACE, and go to work on that side stand. Cut out a section, then JB the two ends back together with the steel bushing inside, and It won't get knocked over again, I'll bet.

Cheap; easy; done.

I don't think the stand is the issue. Its the idiots that can't park their car and run into it. Thx for the info.

I think I may have solved the mystery of why it keeps winding up on its side. Are there any drunk girls in your neighborhood?
