I've been dithering for weeks on which front fender to put on the bike. Some looked "OK," but not quite. Then I read Spec's reply to my original fender story. Till then I'd never heard of Cycra, but when I went to their site I liked what I saw.
Here's stock config for comparison. Looks awkward to my eye and I'll never need the mudding capability.
Then I dropped the front fender down and it's OK, but I don't like the lines of it and still have the sail effect on the highway. On the rock road the other day, this set-up bottomed out badly, too, but the new Progressive front fork springs cured that. Love those springs.
........and the Cycra fender in place. I don't like the fender sitting right on the tire, either, but this - to me - looks about right. It took some careful shimming to get the angle. I know that each config has its adherents and everyone has their own opinion, so here's my statement. It comes real close to what I had in my mind's eye. I'd be slightly happier if the back of the fender was longer, but I can live with this. I have 2 rock guards stacked in front of radiator, so should be safe there.
That's it. Done customizing and "Larry-fying." One more task I learned about when researching the forks is to go thru the steering head and that will be done pretty soon. It's all tight and stable now, but I want to keep it that way.
