Wink Doohickey job

Hey folks, have installed doo and torsion spring, my original spring [ about 1500 miles ] was loose. Am starting to button it back up, but just wondering why they say to leave the adjuster bolt loose until the outer cover is on? Also has anyone tried a Hindle Stealth muffler [ 16" ] on the K? I've got one from another bike and was thinking of using it..thanks

I believe you can tighten the bolt thru your access hole behind the rubber plug on the lower portion of the left side of the case once its all put together

Thanks cby650, that's how its adjusted, I was just curious as to why not tighten it first? I guess I'll find out. Also you really do have to check your clearance, my doo was rubbing the 'spokes' on my starter gear, had to give it a little tap onto the shaft to clear.
