Battery?

Iíve noticed my 2011 KLR cranks kind of slow. It starts easy enough, but I wonder if thatís normal?
Would a better battery allow it to crank faster? Most batteries Iíve seen listed have 220 CCAís
What do you guys use in your KLRís?

I just use an off-the-rack Wal-Mart special. Mine cranks fast. Lead-acid batteries are weird and temperamental, though. You can take the best care of them, but they can still degrade or suddenly just quickly fail. I don't ride under extreme conditions and a failure wouldn't be extremely inconvenient for me, so I stick with the "generic" batteries.

I got a 'big crank' in there now. Bike starts better than it ever did with an electrolyte battery. And I've only changed it once...that first time. That was 4 years or so ago. I think?

Anyway, I will never have anything except a 'solid state' battery again. I've spent WAY too much time in my life trying to drip distilled water into a dirty battery with a lantern on the other side so I can see the 'line'.

I noticed that on my 2011 over the winter and bought a battery tender and it cranks so much fast like when it was new.
