Question about adding Coolant

I've got a 2008 KLR:

According to the window on the Radiator, I'm getting low on coolant (about 10% of the window is full) I bought more to add, but when I remove the radiator cap, there is coolant up to the top of the hole. I'm wary of adding more, thinking it'll probably spill all over the place.

Any idea why this would be?

The window is on the reservoir, not the radiator. The radiator will be full until the reservoir is empty. Top up the reservoir to the proper level.

Your reservoir is on the right side opposite the rad. It's hard to see and I bet hard to get at to top her up, but you need to do it so the radiator has something to pull coolant from if it needs it. That glass sight glass is where? That you are looking at? Towards the front right not down on the left side of the engine...because that is your oil level sight glass! The coolant over flow from what I remember is a clear or semi clear plastic sight glass type of thing on a white bottle shaped like a radiator. Damn this is a complicated way to describe the coolant reservoir....lol. It's semi under the gas tank on the right side up high. It has a cap on the top, black and you should be able to fill it even if you need to use a turkey baster type tool, or a funnel with a long hose, my favourite way.

I hope this long winded explanation helps....lol.
