Ricochet skid plates and bike jacks?

i've been removing the factory plate to give a nice flat surface to jack my bike up. recently i've been shopping for an aftermarket plate and decided on the Motech because it was flat and / or could be swung out of the way for easy jacking.

others here have recommended the Ricochet and from looking online, it does give better protection up top as well as underneath. apparently it will work with the Motech crash bars (future) and does come in stylish black to match my bike but doesn't look easy to remove & reinstall or look completely flat on the bottom....

so my question is to those with the Ricochet, can you jack the bike up on the skid plate or does it have to be removed each time??

My experience on a basic made-in-China ATV/bike lift, with Generation 1: Utah Sport Cycle bash plate, I think the same part as the Ricochet-badged one:

1. Yes. Not the rock of Gibraltar, but--careful positioning and its been stable enough, I have found.

2. No.

thanks guys

by fluke the Motech plate was back ordered so i had the chance to change my order and i did about 5 minutes after i posted the question. the Ricochet definitely looks to have more protection up top and down under. and if it doesn't feel stable enough (not worried at all) i guess i'll have to use straps. i would just hate to have to remove it every time i want to clean the chain etc.... but i'm thinking it'll be just fine
