08 running lean

Hey all,

I have an 08 that runs very lean (spark plug is white). I've turned the (can't remember the name) screw on the bottom of the carb out 1 1/2 turns but no change. Was wondering if there is anything else I can do/check to help my bike run a little richer?

Yes, do the 22 cent mod. That will enrichen the mixture at large throttle openings. The idle mixture screw on the bottom only adjusts the mixture up to about 1/4 throttle.

Look at blocking off your AIS system too. It is part of the emission control garbage on the 08+. I don't have a genII but I hear disabling that helps with the lean condition. Plus reading a plug is not what it used to be, you can but it is more involved than the color of the insulator since our hybrid fuels...
