Colorado Jetting

Hello,

I live in golden colorado at 6000'. I am set up for supermoto/ mtn roads and canyons.

2008 klr 650
Two brothers valle pipe
Airbox drilled
Needle shimmed one washer
Slide is drilled

What jets should I use?
How many turns out on air /fuel screw?

I'm always down to ride if anyone is in the area!

Hi Matt!
With the factory needle and stock jet(a 145 most likely) you are probably at the point where you will want to purchase a KLX needle kit from EagleMike. It is adjustable and is tapered rather than stepped like the factory needle.

The factory needle is lean at part throttle and midrange, then rich at 3/4 throttle to wide open due to the stepped design for emission considerations.
With the tapered KLX needle the fuel flow increases in proportion to the opening of the throttle allowing more consistent tuning.
Talk to EM when you order the kit for a recommendation on jet size and needle setting for your elevation and mods.

Do a couple of searches on the forum for more info on carb adjusting. There are lots of threads about it.
