Chain replacement time.

I have an 08 with 16.5ish on it, runnin a moose 16t front and stock rear sprocket. Also have a moose 14t thats really fun to play in the dirt with. Its time to replace the chain. Any recommendations on what size and brands? I have kinda looked at them, whats the difference between the o-ring and non o-ring chains?

The Orings (or Xrings) Help keep lube in the pins and rollers and dirt out. They will last longer. As to brands and durability, someone else will have to answer. I only have 10000 miles on my 2011 and it is nowhere near needing replacing!

do a close inspection of your sprockets, they wear together. i usually replace them all as a set, as i've found replacing only one part tends to wear out the new part much faster as it mates to the older components.

as for a brand...... i haven't had to change mine yet but am so far very happy with the factory equipment. i would also stick with an "o" or "x" ring chain

sun star makes a good sprocket set and wear well . mine was toast at 14k miles but mine is in the mud and dirt a lot ... for the chain I went to the DID gold its pricey but its super quality and very nice wearing chain ..

Time to think about replacing my chain/sprockets as well, near 20K.
What's the difference between the Gold or plain Steel chain?
Any reason for one over the other, think I will get the "X" ring style
but it is offered in Plain or Gold.
