How to spend $500 on my new KLR

Good morning fellow KLR lovers,
I have just recently run in my new KLR 2013 in Australia. I would love to here some suggestions on how I may be able to spend say around $500 for some cool mods for my new bike.
Any info forwarded will be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

IF you go off-road, Crashoverride has a point--nerfs can protect your radiator, tank, and plastic, in the event of a spill. Alternative: IMS high-capacity plastic tank.

You might consider a proper aluminum BASH PLATE, to protect your engine cases and coolant plumbing from close encounters with rocks.

Further, HAND GUARDS protect your levers in the event of a fall.

While no Generation 2 doohickeys (idler shaft levers) have failed, spring tension issues have surfaced--aftermarket tension spring, especially a "torsion" spring, might be sound maintenance.

Surely, you've enough requirements and preferences remaining to eat up that $ 500, if any now remains!

Once saw a video of a 70 year old who could out run anyone in his riding group. A young guy asked him what he should buy to make his bike go faster. The old fellow told him "gas". Practice will make you a better and faster rider than anything.

That being said, I agree with the crash bars and bark buster type hand guards along with a bash plate.
