I personally think the Happy Trails or Moose Racing skid plates are some of the heavier duty skid plates available. They also cover the engine Behind the drain plug.

I use rubber cushions (hole sawed from old car tires) on the frame to space them Down from the frame. To give even more drain plug protection.

Modify at "YOUR OWN RISK"!

I've got the Ricochet skidplate on my bike, paired up with the SW Motech crash bars. Looks good, and fits well.

+1 to both Acidman and pdwestman. I like my Ricochet skidplates very much. I didn't like how the SW Motec plate only came half way back and was riveted together.
I recently saw pics of one that had come apart after a hit, the rivets sheared. That won't happen with a Ricochet plate!!

Twisted Throttle has the SW Motech skid plate ( http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-mo...e-silver-black ).

However, I also have the Ricochet skid plate ( http://www.ricochetoffroad.com/store/page156.html ). To fit along the SW Motech crash bars I had to shave a little bit off each rear corner of the skid plate. Not a big deal.
Every once in a while Ricochet will have scratch & dent sales.
