Front brake switch

After some riding I found that when pulling my front brake lever in the rear brake light does not activate. It's not the bulb because the bake brake does activate it. When I pull the lever I can hear a click from the pin and it does come out.

The first picture shows the lever pulled and the second shows the lever released.

Pull the brake switch leads and do a continuity test with a VOM. Make sure that the switch is closing.

Harbor Freight has a cheap (usually free with a coupon) VOM that is adequate for troubleshooting.

Pull the two wires to the switch shown in the photos and jump between the two wire ends with the ignition switch on. If the brake light comes on then the problem is in the switch. If the light does not come on the problem is in the wires.
