Talking Tall windshield

Does anyone out there have the tall windshield, and if so how do you like it compared to the stock one?

It seems to be a 50/50 split. My buddy hated his, I didn't like it. In actuality, I cut my stock one down about half, and now the wind hits my chest instead of my helmet. Others love them.

I've got a Cee Bailey's tallest unit (22" I believe) and it does the trick.

Pros:
Cuts down the buffeting factor to the helmet. Calm, smooth sailing.
Quitens the wind noise. You can duck down & really hear the engine.
Keeps the top of the helmet "in the wind". Cools the noggin thru the helmet vents

Cons: Seems to cut down the mileage. Its a lot of frontal area to push against Texas headwinds.
Heat build-up. The radiator & engine heat tends to "swirl up" around you.

Would I do it again? Yes!

Regards & good luck with your choice!

Highway, Intercraps - Great and keeps the wind pressure off your chest. Enough wind gets around at higher speeds to keep you cool.

Backroads - Less wind getting to your body means less cooling. Not enough pressure on chest at medium speed to warrant blocking it.

Off road - Sucks. I hit my chin on it once because when standing and leaning forward a bit, it's right in your way.

Below 50 degrees - BINGO, we have a winner! I intended to do more winter riding and blocking the wind obviously helps keep warmer.

To Shield Or Not To Shield

How tall are you? Im 6'3" and my +9 beats my head pretty bad. If I duck down say about 4" it works great.

I like mine especially at night, so much less bugs stuck to my helmet. also in the rain it's a big difference. helps keep the rain from hitting your neck and stays out of the rain suit. the hotter weather is where it does not help, I just switch out to the stock..

i was thinking 10" over stock... are the stock mounts even strong enough for that much more wind?
