2009 front fender options

New member, and just got an '09 KLR650. I've noticed some nicer looking front fenders on some of your bikes, compared to stock. Any suggestions on where to get a decent fender? Do the aftermarket ones bolt right on? Thanks.

More will chime in soon enuff with what they use, and there's a good few available.

Being the Cheapster, I cut/ trimmed my stocker the shape of the aftermarket units
and mainly took of a big crescent in front removing the "beak" and wind buffeting sides.

Just fer kix I added an HD chrome strip down the center for stiffness and bling. LOL

There's a KTM, Suzuki, and quite a few aftermarket matches tho and the gang will be along
soon enough to tell you how much they love theirs. There's an awesome looking
louvered one too available somewhere.

Have fun and welcome!!

I haven't done this yet, need a new piston first, but looks like it would work.

Yes, that seems like it would look a lot better. I'm not real crazy about the stock fender. Thanks Trund.

I can't post pics very easily.

My wife set up my avatar and that's why it has never changed. lolol

Do a search on this site. We have a record of everything. Type in "front
fender" and click the search box. Everything you have asked
is already here. Then post what ya got and how much you like or don't
like your choice to add to our building information pool of sharing. We're
just cool like that and ask away if there's any questions about mounting,
fitment, drilling, etc.

I do both searches and threads too. Combined I have learned much about the batcycle.

Enjoy whatever ya choose,

Thx guys. Yes, I searched some of the old threads. I saw a few mentions of the fact that air flow could be an issue. Does anyone know if the factory fender is designed to direct air flow into the radiator, etc. I don't want to change the fender just for visual purposes if it is going to adversely affect the air flow somehow.
