2008 Klr

I have 1600 miles on my 2008 KLR and I have noticed that the bike dies when I crack the throttle a tiny bit. The motor reacts funky and the tach jumps up to around 8 or 9 and the lights dim. HHHHMMMM ? I never had this happen on any other bike I have owned. It sounds like electrical to me. It happens intermittently, so im sure the dealership will him and haw about it. Any suggestions ?

another 08 electrical issue sounds like. There seems to be a lot of issues of a wire or wires rubbing and grounding out down under the tank area. You will have to get to the wire loom and start looking at each wire and try to trace it down. But before you do that, have you checked the battery? If they aren't in peak condition, it seems the bike can exhibit some weird behavior on those 08's.

Learned this lesson myself "always start at the beginning". I'll bet one of the battery terminals is not tight. My dealer looked at it twice before I found the problem. I spent an entire afternoon trying to trace it under the assumption they had already tightened the terminals.
