Front drive sprocket?

Is there any difference between a Kawasaki mfd. front sprocket, and aftermarket sprockets? I was told that Kawasaki unit had rubber on theirs, to make them quieter, where aftermarket units do not.

That is true. I bought a 16t off rckymtn and it worked just fine with no increase in noise.

I can hear my SunStar 16 but it's quiet.

The clickety-clacking of the engine easily drowns it out. LOL

Same with me. No difference from the stock to a 16 tooth front...

Sprocket

I replaced my front with a new "Kawasaki" one yesterday. The scraping I was getting is gone now. Don't know why a slight amount of wear on the old sprocket would cause that sound, but it's gone now!

I had a scraping noise before I changed the chain and sprockets this past winter. I found a pebble lodged in behind the front sprocket.

That was one of the things I suspected. I didn't see anything when I removed the old sprocket. Did job in my shop, and nothing on the floor after removal?

The rubber on old sprocket seemed to be smooth, no tears etc.

I run the same sprocket with no noise increase. They last a long time, and are dirt cheap.

Yep. Just replaced my stock. I can't tell any difference. Noise or any other kind.
