Tire tube question

I just bought a new Michelin tube for my NX250. It's time, as the old one is.. "Just Old!"
I blew up the new one to get all the packing wrinkles out, and it had a section that expanded much bigger than the rest of it. ( About 5- 10 lbs of air )
My old tube is much more uniform when blown up.
How normal is this? It makes me think that it doesn't have a uniform thickness.

That is way more 'normal' than I wish I had to admit! But it has been that Way for the 39 years that I have been doing this!

Some are more 'uniform' than others! Once the tubes are contained with-in a supporting tire, it really doesn't matter!

If a thorn or thumb-tack or nail or screw is long enough, your tire goes flat! .005" difference or .050" difference! The tire has got to be the 'strength' of the system.
