Fan Motor Repair?

My radiator fan from my 2012 KLR650 seems to be dead. I have removed from the bike and connected to a 12v battery and nothing happens. I suspect the fault is something simple like a broken connection inside the case. Thought I'd ask if anyone has been down this road before I attempt a repair.
And I am probably in the market for a good used fan if anyone has one laying around.

Thanks for reading.

Supposedly, the 1987 through 2005 Ninja 500R fan motor is a direct replacement for the KLR fan motor.

You will have to do some dis-assembly/assembly.

Plenty of them on e-bay for $15-$25.

Good idea to look for compatible fans from other models. However, I only see a couple 500R fans on eBay and they don't look like the KLR fan. I found one on eBay that fits and works well for $65.

It is said that the fan motor is the same, so you remove the fan from the Ninja bracket and put it int he KLR bracket.

Never done it, going on hearsay, thought I'd pass it along as an inexpensive solution.

Give it a spin. Sometimes they just get dirty and the fan stops. It should spin freely. If not spray something like WD40 on the bearings.

Ah but, Johnr51 is riding a 2012! And I'm of no help, either.

Huh? Where does it say 2012?

It's right there in black and white, "...fan from my 2002 KLR650..."

Oh, wait.

Never mind....
