Depends on your riding style. If your running mostly pavement any knobbie tire will wear out quickly. If your wanting good grip and decent ride on pavement with a " knobbie looking " tire it's hard to beat the continental TKC 80 .About 4000 miles before it's actually toast.Good grip on blacktop, good on gravel,so so in the mud.Really have to air down in the soft stuff. If your riding street and some gravel/dirt the longest wearing tire I have found is the Mefos.Last set on the klr got around 11,000 miles
TKCs

Mefos

Good to hear another Continental Recommendation. I'm pulling mine apart later tonight to put one of the Conti's on. (Rear only)

Mefo country

TKC country

While the mefo 99 is my favorite all around klr tire,it doesn't do well in the deep slimey stuff.it does however handle rocky terrain excellent. If I was gonna stay on FS roads and gravel/dirt backroads and ride 50/50 or more,I wouldn't run anything but the mefo.Yep,they're 100 bucks a pop,but they will last 10,000+.I run the tkcs for the more rugged stuff because of the larger lugs.Gettin ready to run a set of K670'S to go into the deep stuff in a couple of weeks

One bike has Mefo's but I'd say the TKC is a better 'looking' tire, i may try them on another bike.

Welp...I finally got my Continenta put on tonight and up and running. I took it out around the city in some neighborhoods, a little highway (60-70) and overall first impressions vs. the stockers is that its very different. At first I didn't feel like it did very well leaning sharply, though as I got into it more it seems fine. I feel like it does not track as well on the highway.

I am really looking forward to it in the dirt. I'll probably hit that tomorrow on my lunch hour.

Iím going on 5000 mils with my stock KLR 08 tires. I do like them, however at this rate Iím going to start to replace these every year. I enjoy the off-road but only do about 10% off road riding. So Iím thinking I need a better longer lasting tire.

How did you end up liking or disliking your Continenta?

Any other recommendations?

Since I've ridden it more, it seems fine on the street. I still feel like I do not lean the bike over as much as I did with the stockers... I got 5200 miles on my stock tire.

I actually have only taken it on gravel, no actual off-road yet, but it is much better in gravel. Overall, I do like it a lot and do not regret it. At the rate I ride, I'll probably wear this one out early next season, so at that point, I might try the Mefo's.
