I think rivets, had it installed when purchased new. Only issues was it touched the rear fender a little and I had to crop some off. Other than that it's awesome. Stock exhaust shield worked on it as well. Will post some pics, possible video once I make more that 15 posts. No rear caliper issues, that I know of, 8500 miles of joy. I will recommend doing the eagle Mike subframe bolt thing and the doohickey, just did the doo, mine was fine but the OEM doo is weak and EM replacement is far better. Also had my lower subframe bolts rattle out, one at a time, and the trunk rack bolts broke and I drilled and tapped them with more high strength bolts. I do 60/40 on-off road stuff. Love trail riding, the KLR is a bit of a pig but completely manageable, mine has been down twice and wasn't that bad for picking up. Engine guards are a must for radiator protection reasons, had to fix that out of my own pocket. Hear a lot about the thermo bob also, think I will do mine later this year or next, no overheating issues just helps keep a more constant temp instead of up and down like it does now.
