2005 front hub in a 2013 bike... its possible??

hello, anybody knows if its possible put a wheel with a 2005 fron hub in a 2013 front fork without any mod????

i know that the part numbers are not the same, but maybe it doesnt matter...

in the parts catalogue, the 05 and 13 front hubs looks the same...

someone who has done this already?????

No idea; wonder if the different axle-mounting schemes are compatible.

Caliper differences might result in discontinuity, also, IMHO.

CAVEAT: Speculation on my part; could be totally interchangeable.

As I understand it, as long as you use the proper brake disc for the proper caliper one can swap Generations back and forth.

Primarily the Gen 2 spokes are larger/stronger.

I have a 2003 front wheel on my 2011 right now. Fits fine. As pdwestman mentioned the spokes and brake disc are bigger on the gen2s.

and I have a KLR 600 wheel on the front of my 2000 650


so, yoou could conceivably run a 1987 wheel on your '13!!
