Poor gas mileage - Help needed

I have a 2012 Gen2 with only 800 miles on it and I'm getting pretty bad gas mileage. On a full tank I'm getting approximately 130 miles.

The carb was jetted when I installed a Yoshimura RS-2 exhaust and it sounds great through all gears with no backfiring and no odor to suggest its running rich. I've adjusted the choke position to the mid-point and the bike runs/starts great! That said, 130 miles on a tank with 5.8 gallons is pathetic and I can't figure out where to even begin on this.

If anyone has suggestions, input, feedback etc and can post up, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

What does that mean, u adjusted the choke position to midpoint? The choke should only be on for 30 sec or so then fully off.
I average in the 250 range b4 going to reserve.

I think that's my problem. The choke is ALWAYS on and up until about 1.5 weeks ago, the choke was ALWAYS in the full-forward position when riding and never fully turned off. I'm pretty sure this is my problem and will test how the bike's fuel is managed to see if there's an increase.

That would be the issue. Basically the choke is there for cold starts. In Florida, this time, I don't use it at all. Basically you should use it to start and warm up and get the idle steady between 1200-1400 rpms. Even in the cold months, I don't leave mine on for more than a minute while warming up.

Also, I don't know if this was you, but a read a month ago about a guy that installed an RS2 Yoshi slip-on and was having it stall because they felt the stock jetting was running it too lean. If it was, then the choke was the issue. Leave the choke off once you place it in gear and I would expect you to see 230 miles or more before switching to reserve.

Because you were running with the choke on while riding, it might be a good idea to swap that spark plug in the near future.

Who jetted the carb? You or someone else. Did you or they Write down All the numbers? OEM jets or some brand of jet kit?
'Choke' lever pushed Forward for normal run position. Pull Rearward for Cold Start-up.

Take the fuel tank off.
Is the plastic choke 'nut' broken? If not, is the cable properly clipped into the plastic nut? The cable slack adjuster is just 4-6 inches above and ahead of the carb, screw it all the way together. Best to add a small remote fuel supply tank and be sure to plug the vacuum nipple. Now start the engine, allow to idle and warm-up a minute or two.
Now gently Pull the choke lever towards yourself, you should hear the exhaust note change and the idle speed fade as the cold start enrichner jet opens.

I like to then adjust the cable slack so that the 1st 1/8th lever movement is just taking up the cable slack. At full lever pull-back the choke lever may not quite top-out in the control pod.

ps, If it is still running, your spark plug is still OK, imo only.
