Farkleization Has Begun

Ordered the KLR handle bar bag and installed a GPS the other day. Went for a ride & realized the GPS was to low and to far back to see very well. I moved it in front of the bag and it is easier to see but still not happy with the placement. I also ordered the Zero Gravity Double Bubble screen and I'm hoping to have enough room to move the GPS above the guages once the new screen is on. I'll post pics of the screen once it is on the bike plus give a review of how it works.

Here is the bag and the GPS before I moved it

Here is the GPS after I moved it.

The next upgrade is now on. I ordered a Zero Gravity Double Bubble windshield in smoke and I think it looks great on the bike plus the extra height and angle should up the wind off the shield over my helmet making a quiet air pocket around my head.
I'm also going to be able to move the GPS up above the gauges and tucked in behind the screen for easier viewing.

Looks good! I've just ordered a ZG windscreen too, but the touring one. I plan on riding all winter long. Ill post pic when I'm allowed.

OK I moved the GPS again but this time it is for good.
Since I have the new windscreen and it has a nice big pocket above the dash I moved the GPS into that spot. Had to remove the dash to mount a ram ball on the top edge so I can clamp the GPS mount to it but it was very easy to do. I love working on this bike compared to the BMW. It has 1/3 of the fasteners to hold stuff on compared to the BMW.

Last weekend it got down to the low 40's here in Central Texas and I froze my arse off. Yea I know you "Northern" guy are laffing at me but 40's is cold here. I've decided if the weather is below 45 I'll just have to ride the BMW. Hey it's a tough live but I'll deal with it.

Looking good!! Now order the klr dash/ windshield risers it's the best mod I've made to my bike plus you will have a ton of room to Mount goodies! Do a Google search and watch everide's video showing it..

I like your last mount position just under the window. Mine had a long swivel mount to the center of the handlebar when I got it, kinda blocked the tach. but didn't vibrate too much. Is there any vibration that makes it hard to read?

No vibrations at all.

After a few hundred miles with the new windshield I started making my own windshield risers to move the screen forward and tilted up more to help move the air over my head. I made a set of brackets but did not like how they worked or looked so I'm redesigning them now. Hope to have some pics soon.
