Sargent seat not cutting it, an reccomendations

A few months ago I put a Sargeant seat (not the low profile) on my '09 KLR. While it's better than the stock seat, it still doesn't fit me right. I'm 6'-2" & 290lb. and I can't seem to find a comfy spot on it even with an Alaska Leather butt pad. I feel like I'm either too far forward or too far back.

Any other seat recommendations for us full-figured guys?

I bought the same seat as you and agree it's better than stock but,,,,,,

Seats seem to be a personal choice.

I was looking at this also:
Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat - Motorcycle Superstore

But didn't have the guts to go that far from stock.

The seat I'm looking at now comes with a new bike under it:

I was also considering a Russell "Day Long" seat. Anybody tried them?

I was going to buy one but to me,,, it's ugly! I hear people who have them like them but I couldn't get past the look of it. Looks like a Harley seat on a KLR.

I've got a Harley police seat on my Ural and love that. My butt and back doesn't care how ugly the seat is, as long as it's comfortable.

I've got the Sarge. If I had the money, I'd have a RDL

Garage
Find a local seat guy. I took my stock seat in. He carved it up, added foam here and there and it's very comfortable now...didn't break the bank either!

I see your in Florida like me. I use to ride with a Hog chapter and some would swear by those sheep skin covers. I often thought of ordering one myself. It seams, down here with the heat and humidity, very few seats are really comfortable. In the summer, if I know I'm going to do a longer ride, than clubman talcom powder (or similiar) does wonders.

Hi John,
I have the Sargents on two of my KLRs. The Standard is more comfortable than the lowered for me. I am 240.
I had a lot of issue trying to find a seat for my KTM 690 Enduro, no Sargent seat available
1) KTM Powersports sucked. Good for about 15 minutes
2) Corbin sucked a bit less. Good for about 1hr Would never buy again.
3) Seat Concepts much better. Good for day trips but got pretty sore after day 3.
4) Russel Day Long. Like riding a caddy! Worth every cent!!
I got lucky and found a used one but would not hesitate to pay full pop after buying this one. So they look a little odd being so wide. Your comfort is what is the most important. It is just as good as the Mustang I put on my 1500 Vulcan Nomad. If I lived in the US I would have bought one much sooner, exchange being what it is.
