Why ATV High Bars?

These seem to be the most popular choice in a replacement. Is this a favorite among off-roaders because of ergonomics or is this a universal favorite?

Because it's one of the closest available bends to the stock bend. Honestly, though bar bend is a personal preference, I think people get it because it's what their used to and not because it fits them the best. The stock KLR bars are too wide (especially Gen2's) and have far too much pullback (or sweep) which can cause numb hands due to the unnatural wrist angle.

.....I prefer the RC Hi bend Renthals and use them on both KLR's

Here's the link to the (Gen1) stock bar measurments: KLR650 FAQ

Renthals 7/8's MX bars: Renthal - MX / Enduro - 7/8"

Renthal ATV bars: Renthal - ATV - 7/8"

Thanks Dave. I changed to pro taper Evo CR HIgh. I tried to get as close to a natural position measurement as possible and this was close. I have a serious problem with "what if" so I'm always wondering if I'm missing a better option.

I just put them on mine. They are about 2" higher and cost less than risers!
