Lexx MXe spring

I just installed the Lexx MXe with mid pipe. Love the deeper sound.

Question for those who've installed one...

It comes with 2 springs to hold muff to mid pipe. One hook end pulled out of the spring while pulling to hook it. I don't have another and haven't tried much to see if I can get the hook back into the spring but it's not easy. The muffler is a very snug fit to the mid pipe and I do have one spring on the bottom hooks. Opinions if you think the top spring is even needed. Once everything is bolted on and tight there is no movement front to rear that I can tell. It is so snug I don't really even see a need for one spring.

Dan, did you use a little Hi-Temp RTV silicone on the joint? If so, should be fine for a while.
We don't want to burn a hole into the air filter box with an exhaust leak.

Actually I used a much higher temp sealant, muffler and tailpipe sealer by Permatex. It was a couple $ less than high temp rtv and better suited for the high temperature to last.
