Factory temp gauge lights-1 or 2?

Noticing my temp gauge seems a little dark at night, the bottom lights up but not the top, do I have a burnt out light or is that the way it is?Thanks.

I've sold my 2008 so I cant check it for reference, but I recall all the gauges lighting up well until one of the bulbs burnt out at the bottom of one of them. From what I hear it's not uncommon for them to burn out so I'm guessing that's what happened to yours. A friend of mine replaced his with led's so he won't have to fiddle with them ever again.

The illumination bulbs are Bulb Number 194. Many manufacturers in both incandescent as well as LED versions. There are three of them used for illumination.

Might be more that 3 bulbs if it is a Gen 2 (2008-up)?

In the future consider a 194 type LED with 5 elements, one pointing straight out and four pointing sideways around it. The sideways elements throw more light down across the face of the instrument panel. Also, LEDs last longer especially with vibration and when one element quits you still have four working for you.
I use the 194-CW5 COOL WHITE here: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...rofit-car/199/
