rich'n it up. Get the eagle mikes carb kit. I assume that would do it.

Edit: I like the poppin on this bike for some reason. Popping from a harley is like gun fire.

You may have a burned out exhaust header gasket because of loose mounting nuts?

Aftermarket mufflers amplify & intensify the propensity of a large cylinder to do this in general. Then there is the A.I.S. to help pass exhaust emission standards.

My vulcan popped the same way and the reason was to pass ridiculous emissions rules. It's just igniting unburnt fuel in the hot pipe which makes the greenies feel better about the planet. Rich'n it up and it will stop.

Yep a functioning AIS system pops on decel by design. Completely normal. Check your exhaust just to be sure it's not amplifying the sound.

I second that! Happened to me on my 2011. Don't forget to proper torque the nuts. Do not over tighten.

If the sound is coming from in front of you perhaps and more probably would be a loose bolt. When I install my carb kit I'll let yas know if my popping stops.

My 2016 does the same thing. I'm at sea level and it's just jetted lean. Took a road trip and got into some altitude then the popping stopped. I pulled the spark plug a few weeks ago because I was concerned it was running too lean but everything looked good.
